Habis Sakit

Dylan n mama habis sakit cold probably over a week. Uh suckie deh .. Makanya ngeblog juga in halt duluan. Ini kedua kalinya dy kena cold. Yang pertama dulu pas bayi banget ...

Pertamanya sih karena ketularan papa, dylan kena pilek, .. terus beberapa hari kemudian mama pun kena imbasnya juga. What I learn this time around is that now I can suck his mucus out with my mouth ... yeayyy :). Duh pertama kali nyedot, mau muntah bok ... abis rasanya asin-asin ambil berlendir gitu ... Tapi berhubung dianya susah banget disedot pake bulb syringe (meronta-ronta) ya akhirnya aku cuek aja sedotin itu idung kecilnya yang kayak button .. uhuhu .. gemessss.

Sudah 2x Playdate terlewati ... gara-gara cold ini. Pas giliran dylan dah agak sembuhan, mama yang teler ... sore throat sakit banget. Ah ya udah lah, stay home aja. But we really miss you guys ... this week we gonna make it !!

Dylan logikanya bagus. Sekarang dia kalo turun dari ranjang, kaki duluan .. instead of head first. Maybe he knows from his experiences that "nyungsep" kinda hurt sometimes. Kakinya sudah lebih kuat, kadang kalo dilepas bisa berdiri sendiri dengan steady. Cruisingnya pun juga kelihatan dia lebih pede, nggak oglak-aglik kayak dulu, meskipun ocassionally juga oleng.

Gara-gara sakit itu, nafsu makannya turuuunn banget, jadinya badan dia agak kurusan ... Pusing deh mama. Ternyata kalo anak nggak makan, ibunyapun jadi susah makan .. (which is good for my case .. I'm losing 3 pounds *smirk*). Dia maunya juga sekarang kalo dikasi single-ingredient food, bisa langsung habis satu jar atau my home-made mac & cheese. Diner offers from Gerber don't interest him so much.

oh iya, hari Jumat (10/15) dia udah dapet FluShot. Lucky him, nationwide is running out, but he gets a piece of it at the right time. Waktu ke clinic kutimbang beratnya 18.5lbs n tinggi 28inches. Waktu disuntik pun sambil ku-nursing, jadi dia nggak nangis sama sekali. Mungkin karena lebih tenang. Semoga winter ini dia nggak sakit lagi .. guenya juga nggak ah. Capek banget badan, pegel-pegel.

Cruising-Hair-Lefty?

Dylan can cruise around while standing up now. He'll grip the aquarium pole, or the TV stand, or anything basically that he can hold on to, and slowly move his body. Couple of times I saw him stand still for a like 5 seconds. Will he up to walking in the next month? ..

He likes me to sing him "Naik naik ke Puncak Gunung". That's a classic children song and the only one that will calm him down when he's cranky. I don't know why for some reasons that soothes him down, not the "Lullaby", nor "Bintang Kecil", nor anything else. He likes the part .."Kiri, kanan ... kulihat saja, .. banyak pohon cemara, ha ha .." while I move my head side to side .. makes him giggle.

He refuses totally to sleep in the crib now, .. so here we are squeezing ourselves in our queen size bed like sardines. I can't be strict on this particular subject because I know daddy likes to sleep with son. I feel like I'm taking away such a pleasure if I enforce sleeping in the crib. Dylan always wakes up 2-3 times at night wanting to nurse. I'm not sure if it's hunger or comfort that he's after, maybe the latter. So the sleeping arrangement is a win-win situation for the three of us basically. We give him time till he's 1 yo. And I'm counting the days when I can have a good stretch on bed.

Dylan has the strangest habbit, he eats my hair whenever he sucks his thumb!
He'll look for a strand of hair first to "eat" and wrap it around his finger, then he sucks his thumb. Everytime! Weirdo ..
I found couple of hair in his mouth, if he swallows them, he's in trouble, cause hair gets stuck in the stomach. I have to break this weird habbit. Eventhough I find it kinda cute that he looks for my hair.

Mind development is progressing very good. When I take something out of his hand and hide it. He'll look to where he sees my hand was. He knows the object is hidden, and he'll look for it. He found it back sometimes :)

I'm not sure if Dy is lefty or righty. His tendency is using his left hand mostly. Sucking thumb, picking up stuff, receiving stuff from us. If he gets food with right hand, he'll transfer it to his left hand first before putting it in his mouth. Both of us are righty, but if he's lefty, there must be some genetic marriage that cause this. we'll just have to wait and see.

to BJs

Today we went to BJ's with Tara and Firsan. The boys had fun cause we were lucky to get a truck trolly that fit both of them. Yehaaayy .. :)
First, they love each other. Then came the fight, and the cry and the scream. By the end of the shopping trip, their face were facing different directions.

So much competition for little boys hanging out together huh?
I'm sure next time will be as fun as today :P
